Background and experience

Malisa offers a warm, collaborative space for individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, and life changes. Her approach combines solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and practical strategies shaped around your goals. Her counseling experience includes virtual individual and couples therapy, along with individual and group counseling in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Malisa has completed Harvard training in mindfulness in clinical practice and brings 30 years of personal mindfulness practice to her work. Her background as a K–12 intervention specialist informs her work with children, teens, and families. She values your culture, beliefs, and strengths. She provides therapy in English and Thai and welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community.

Malisa holds a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Campbellsville University and a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University. Her background also includes dean and public administration program director roles, including serving as dean of the Bachelor of Public Administration program at Stamford International University. Her experience across mental health counseling, academic counseling, K–12 education, and academic leadership informs her understanding of family, school, cultural, and workplace pressures.
